Its length is 147 km and its drainage basin is 2,120 km². It origins 2 km west of Novy Menzelyabash, Sarmanovsky District, Tatarstan. Major tributaries are Kholodnaya, Kamyshly, Iganya, Urguda Rivers. The maximal mineralization 400-800 mg/l. Average sediment in mouth per year reach 100 mm. The maximal discharge is 215 m³/s Drainage is regulated. Since 1978 it is protected as natural monument of Tatarstan. [1] Menzelinsk stay on the river. The notable landmark of the river and the town is an abandoned railway bridge, where railway was never installed.
