Livonia Yard

Livonia Yard

The Livonia Yard is a rail yard of the New York City Subway in East New York, Brooklyn entirely on an elevated structure at the end of the IRT New Lots Line. One of the smaller yards in the system, it is home to the NYCS|3 and S trains. R62's are generally the sole model used on NYCS|3 service. Ten R62A single cars that are used for the NYCS|S service and occasionally see service on the NYCS|3 and NYCS|4 lines also call Livonia Yard home. The yard consists of four inspection tracks in the shop and thirteen layup tracks. Many NYCS|3 trains are stored in the Lenox Yard in Upper Manhattan, as Livonia is not very large, and a notable amount of space within Livonia is used for the storage of NYCS|2, NYCS|4, and NYCS|5 trains.
