National Express West Midlands route 337 is a bus route, operating in the Walsall area of the West Midlands, England.
Present
Service 337 links Walsall with Darlaston via Pleck, travelling along the Wednesbury, Walsall and Darlaston Roads. The service was set up in 2008 in an attempt by National Express West Midlands in attempt to 'steal back' customers from the numerous competitors operating on this corrdior.
This plan appears to have be being successfull, with A2Z Travel withdrawing off the 339 in October 2008, after 3 years on the route.
Neither end of the route allows layover time, with the bus departing as soon as it arrives.
Despite normally being operated by a Volvo B6LE with Wright Crusader bodywork, Volvo B7TLs with Wright Gemini bodywork have been seen on the route on more than one occasion, (this is very rare as these buses only usually venture onto the X51 and 529), as have MCW Metrobuses.
History
*20th July 2008 - National Express West Midlands introduce service 337 between Walsall and Darlaston. This in an attempt to regain customers back along this corrdior and elminate competition from these routes, which are mostly operated by NXWM. The corrdior is served by Arriva Midlands serivce 9, NXWM's service 333, NXWM's, Golden Line Buses, Finesse Coaches & Sandwell Travel service 334 and NXWM's and A2Z Travel service 339.
*19th October 2008 - A2Z Travel withdraw off the 339, following a loss in custom.
