History

RainKing was founded in 2006 by CEO Bill Kapner, founder of bigdough, a similar venture that was purchased by Veronis Suhler Stevenson in 2004. An initial investment of $2.1 million in 2006 provided the capital necessary to begin hiring and product development. The beta version of RainKing ended in January 2008 with the launch of the official product.

Products and Services

RainKing offers several products, the main being the Rainking 500 database. which provides contact data with direct phone numbers and information on over 10,000 of the key I.T decision makers at the country's largest Fortune 500 companies. Data sets are gathered by teams of corporate researchers, who verify the information and compile a company profile. After going live, the profiles are carefully checked by the QA department for inaccuracies, clarifications, and any mistakes. RainKing clients also have the option of reporting inconsistencies to Quality Assurance. After a 3-6 month time frame, the company profiles are completely re-verified by the researchers and updated to reflect any changes in the company.
