She was born in Turin, in the Piedmont region of Italy. Like her younger sister, Carla Bruni, she has settled in France, and was raised bilingual by her Italian parentsFact|date=August 2008. She holds dual French and Italian citizenship. Her brother-in-law, Nicolas Sarkozy, is the current President of France.
