Hasan Azizul Huq (
Bangla : হাসান আজিজুল হক) is aBangladesh i writer, reputed for his short stories. He was born on 2 February 1939 in Jabgraam inBurdwan district ofWest Bengal ,India . However, later his parents moved to Fultala, near the city ofKhulna ,Bangladesh .He taught in the department of philosophy of the
Rajshahi University for a long time and retired as a professor of philosophy. He now lives in "Ujan", the name of his home near the campus of the Rajshahi University.Huq is well known for his experimentations with the language and introducing modern idioms in his writings. His use of language and symbolism has earned him critical acclaim. His stories explore the psychological depths of human beings as well as portray the lives of the peasants of Bangladesh.
Huq has received most of the major literary awards of Bangladesh including the
