Red Island Minerals

Red Island Minerals Ltd (RIM) is a Perth-based coal development company, 35% owned by Strait Resources Ltd. (SRL.AX), also of Perth. RIM was founded by Sam Malin and Robert Nelson to develop the Sakoa Coal Field in southwestern Madagascar. The project is operated by RIM's 100% subsidiary, Madagascar Consolidated Mining SARL, which is headed up by former Malagasy Minister for Energy and Mines, Jacquis Rabarison, and in which the Malagasy government agency, OMNIS, holds a minority stake.
