Tabango is a 4th class municipality in the province of Leyte,
Philippines . According to the2000 census, it has a population of 31,433 people in 6,724 households.On
January 17 ,2008 , Tabango,Leyte Mayor Bernard Jonathan Remandaban, 37, opened (soft) its almost complete P 5.8 million modern / fully air-conditionedlibrary : “It took us 6 years to construct our municipal library.” Tabango, with annual income of P 34 million, has 34,000 residents in 13 barangays (villages), with 26 elementary schools, 4 high schools and one satellite school, the Palompon Institute of Technology. Leyte Gov. Carlos Jericho Petilla promised further support of P 500,000 to P 1 million. The library could accommodate 20,000 books, has 5 computer units withInternet access and a flat television set that only carries theNational Geographic andDiscovery channels. Students can use the computers for 10 hours monthly, free of charge.
