Henderson pitched one year at
Linfield College before transferring toSan Diego State University . He compiled a 19-5 career record at the two schools.Coaching Career
Henderson got his start in collegiate coaching at his alma mater, San Diego State, as the
junior varsity head coach. He moved around doing short assistant coaching stints atCal State Fullerton ,Riverside Community College ,Chapman College (where he also served as head coach for 1 season) and Pepperdine.He then became an assistant at Florida and helped lead the team to the
1996 College World Series and the1998 College World Series . From there he moved on to Oregon State before he finally landed at Kentucky in 2003.After John Cohen left Kentucky to become the head coach at Mississippi State, Henderson was promoted to the head coaching position.
