He is best known for his role as the angel Castiel on the CW television series Supernatural.[1]

Personal life
Collins was born in Boston, Massachusetts. Before acting, he interned for four months at the White House during the Clinton Administration in the Office of Presidential Personnel. [2] Collins attended the University of Chicago, where he studied social theory.[3]
In 2002, Collins married Victoria Vantoch.[4] They have one child, West Anaximander Collins, born September 23, 2010.[5]
Collins is a published poet. His poems, including Baby Pants and Old Bones, have been published in three literary magazines and journals: the 2008 edition of the Columbia Poetry Review, Pearl Magazine and The California Quarterly 21.[6]
Collins is a regular poster on Twitter, and he has termed his followers on there his "minions".[7] In December 2009, the actor asked his minions for ideas on how to stimulate the economy; in response, they created a non-profit charitable site now known as www.TheRandomAct.org.[8] Later that month, he won (by popular vote) the award for Best of Twitter 2009 in an online contest held by the Internet portal Faxo.[9]

On November 3, 2011, Misha Collins appeared on the podcast Disasterpiece Theatre to discuss what a Supernatural movie might look like if created as a gay incestuous pornography.[10]
