Kevin was born in Glasgow and grew up in the East Riding of Yorkshire and Newcastle upon Tyne. He attended school at
St. Andrew’s, Haltemprice ,Wolfreton School and theRoyal Grammar School, Newcastle upon Tyne. He graduated from theUniversity of Durham in 2003, having read law.After a period teaching constitutional law and European human rights law at Durham University, he went to work for the Labour Party over the 2005 General Election.
