Highland Park Community College was a Community college located in Highland Park, Michigan. The Community college was founded in 1918. WHPR-FM was originally run by Highland Park Community College.

The school was closed in 1996. [ [http://www.ncahlc.org/index.php?option=com_directory&Itemid=192&Action=ShowBasic&instid=1329 Higher Learning Commission ] ] There were several attempts to save the college, but its failure to receive full support from millages had essentially doomed it. The legislature took up bills related to the college and there were attempts to portray its closing as an attempt by Republicans to undermine education access for African-Americans. The old records of Highland Park Community College are held by the Highland Park Public Schools.

The old site of the college has now been turned into a shopping center.
