- Standoff (decorative)
Decorative standoffs are a very common piece of hardware used in
point of sale and retail displays, trade show exhibits, corporate environments and on indoor signs. They are made from a wide variety of materials and come in several different finishes. The most popular configuration is made of aluminum and finished in a clearanodized coating. They come in varying lengths and diameters.Components
There are three different parts to a typical standoff assembly. The cap, stud and the sleeve. The cap is the part seen on the face of the display or sign. The stud is attached to the cap from the back. This assembled piece is sometimes referred to as a puck.
Assembly
The standoff assembly is constructed by drilling a hole in the panel to be mounted. The puck assembly is then passed through the hole and into the spacer. The sign or panel is mounted to another panel or wall using the remaining length of the stud sticking out the end of the spacer. These parts do vary based on the design. There are several different variations of the decorative standoff but the way they are assembled are very similar.
