Hadera in 1938 by agar'in group comprisingHashomer Hatzair members who had immigrated from Galicia,Poland ,Germany andAustria . The group received training inBeit Zera , Ma'abarot and Merhavia. Most of the members wereillegal immigrants (known in Hebrew as "Ma'apilim") to Mandate Palestine.The kibbutz itself was founded on 2 November 1945. The land on which it was built had been bought by
Yehoshua Hankin in 1932 from theArab village ofQaqun .Notable residents include
