- Kanalites
Kanalites (Greek: Καναλιτών, Serbian: Konavljani) were a Serb tribe in present-day
Dalmatia who were under Roman dominion. The Kanalite tribe perished, merging with the Serbs that conquered the area in the 7th century. Porphyrogenitus says that inhabitants of this area are descendants from the unbaptized Serbs, from the time of that prince who came out of unbaptized Serbia and claimed protection of the emperor Heraclius.
