Akash Giri

Akash Giri

"Akash Giri" is touted as one of the most successful child actors in Nepalese Cinematic history. His debut on the silver screen was in the film Dusman (1994). In this film Giri plays the role of the young hero, Saroj Khanal. The most famous scene, staring Giri, is when the young Saroj Khanal receives a seemingly fatal bullet wound which causes a fall into a tumultuous river. Despite the short length of his first appearance, Giri's role in the scene is applauded as one of the "Most Moving Scenes of All Time" by the Nepali film making community. Although nominated for multiple awards, Giri refused to take any part of the ceremonies stating, "Acting is a pure entity derived directly from one's spirit and soul; it cannot be manifested in a tangible form." Giri is currently in the US studying Law. When asked about his future he has hinted at plans of production, directing, and possibly acting in a new form of Nepali Movie. This new form shall expose Nepal as a possible destination for extreme himalayan sports, winter olympics venue, and mountain sports development. Akash Giri is the son of most influential politician of Nepalese Umesh Prasad Giri.
