Richard South (1846 - 1932) was an English entomologist who specialised in LepidopteraHe wrote A list of butterflies collected by Captain F. M. Bailey in western China, South-Eastern Tibet, and the Mishmi Hills, 1911."J. Bomb. nat. Hist. Soc" 22 (3): 598-615 (1913) , "The Butterflies of the British Isles" Warne, London (1906) and "The Moths of the British Isles" Warne, London (1907) and many short scientific papers on Lepidoptera.
