Chase Frank Chase Frank's Website is a musician and songwriter who grew up in Long Beach, California. Early musical training included cello, piano and guitar. As an adult she has played in Long Beach rock groups Quiver, Kiwi 6(w/La Dawn Best), The Potato Eaters & Quiverfish (which had several rotating members from 1996–2001) OC Weekly Aural Reports, Chase Frank, 2002
In 2002 she renounced the band format and went solo. Her first release "Bee of My Mind" (http:myspace.com/chasefrank) was released on boutique-label Poverty Level Records. It was an 8-song LP made with fellow students while earning a degree in audio engineering (LBCC). The album was textural and haunted with piano, violin, French horns. An ambient production, the reprise features the title track, Sweet Silence, remixed by Shea Gauer http://www.myspace.com/smgsoundings. (Guest performers included David Lizarde (violin), Robby Delosier, Rob Freeman.
Her next release, Winter is My Summer was released February 2006. Recorded and mixed by Robbie Reverberation (for Vesuvius Records) the album was born out of loop sampling experiments and two years of regular touring. The 13 songs guitar-driven release was referred to as minimalist and often compared to the gaunt sounds of early Sonic Youth, Porthishead and PJ Harvey http://www.collectedsounds.com/cdreviews/winterismy.html. Additionally, several Winter Is My Summer songs were re-mixed (http://myspace.com/chaseremixed) various artists.
In 2008 she self-released an 8 song EP entitled Midnight Manor (Midnight Manor, I-Tunes) which includes drummer La Dawn Best (her first drummer, Kiwi 6). Frank is currently touring as a duo with drummer Matt Danko Tour Dates / Frank's Website.
In 2011 she released a new album released August 2011, for which she completed a national tour with drummer Matt Danko & singer A.J. Butler. The Album, "Smile Trials" was produced by Isaiah "Ikey" Owens Ikey Owens Wiki page
Other accomplishments include several music series' and spoken word events including: "An evening with Allen Ginsberg" and "Songwriters Supper Club" (2002-2006 weekly concert) where she aimed at cross-pollinating local artists with national touring acts.
As an events producer she created and produced a nationally recognized festival, When Words Collide LA TIMES on "When Words Collide" LB Spoken Word Fest in Long Beach to critical acclaim nation-wide. The festival featured writer/cross-over artists as Patti Smith, Performance Artist Laurie Anderson, Jim Caroll, John Trudel and more (two festivals 1995 & 1997). The event was month-long and multi-venued and highly attended. The festival also included many local writers and was created in collaboration with Long Beach art organizations a board of directors and programming advisors.
