National Express West Midlands route 366

The 366 is a bus route operated by National Express West Midlands in the West Midlands of England.

History

*1986 - National Express West Midlands (then West Midlands Travel introduce new dual purpose MCW Metrobuses. These buses are given 'Timesaver' branding and used on many limited stop services across the West Midlands county. One of these services is the 966 Wolverhampton - Birmingham Airport service, via Willenhall, Walsall, Aldridge, Sutton Coldfield and Erdington.
*Early 1990s - The 966 is shortened to operate between Walsall and Birmingham Airport only.
*1996 - West Midlands Travel becomes Travel West Midlands.
*1998 - Travel West Midlands operate the 966 at a half hourly Monday - Saturday daytime frequency and hourly during the evenings and on Sundays.
*2001 - Travel West Midlands split the 966 in to several routes. The first route is the 366 between Walsall and Sutton Coldfield via Aldridge. The second route is the 966 between Sutton Coldfield and Solihull via Birmingham Airport. The 366A is also created to run between Walsall and Erdington via Sutton Coldfield and the 966A between Erdington and Solihull via Birmingham Airport. The 366 runs Monday - Saturday daytime at a half hourly frequency, the 366A runs Evenings and all day Sundays at an hourly frequency, the 966 runs Monday - Saturday daytime at a half hourly frequency and the 966A runs at a half hourly frequency on evenings and all day Sundays.
*2006 - The 366A is withdrawn. Evening journeys now terminate at Sutton Coldfield at the same frequency.

The 366 is still operated by MCW Metrobus, whilst the 966 is operated using Dennis Trident 2 low floor double decks.

Present

Currently National Express West Midlands (NXWM) operate the 366, Monday - Saturday at a half hourly frequency during daytime hours. On a Sunday and weekday and Saturday evenings, NXWM operate the service at a hourly frequency, which is interlinked with service 332.

Service 366 currently links Walsall with Sutton Coldfield by way of the areas of Aldridge, Mere Green and Four Oaks. It is one of two routes linking Walsall with Sutton Coldfield, the other being the 377.
