The Grand Canyon of the Stikine is a stretch of the Stikine River in northern British Columbia, Canada. A deep gorge bisecting the Tahltan Highland and delimiting the northern edge of the Stikine Plateau, the canyon is impassable to roads below the Tahltan First Nations community of Tahltan, British Columbia and has been compared to the Grand Canyon of the Colorado in scale and was compared by naturalist John Muir as "the Yosemite of the North" . The canyon is home to a large population of mountain goat and other wildlife.
Access
The Stewart-Cassiar Highway (BC Highway 37) at the community of Telegraph Creek, which is in the upper area of the canyon.
