The town of Pasacao has been a living witness to the progress and travails of the province of Camarines Sur.
Considered as a sleepy visita, this town was however, the only passage leading to Manila . It was only during the arrival of the Spaniards when its importance as an existing visita was noted.
Pasacao can well be remembered for its contribution in the province especially during those critical Spanish times. Its strategic location made it very accessible to other places while providing economic and social benefits to its settlers.
It has grown into a vast-expanding community as evidenced by the establishments of several edifices like a coconut oil factory, fishery school, and oil warehouse.
During the Spanish Colonization in the 16th Century, Pasacao, is the only existing port in Camarines Sur and the only transportation link to Manila. Pasacao played a vita role in the improvement of trade and commerce.
There is no exact date either by the Spanish or Phil-American government that created the municipality of Pasacao. Church’s records however showed that the first Roman Catholic church was founded in 1886
Noted, too, are the town's fine beaches with spectacular view of the sunset which can rival other local and foreign beach resorts.
