June 3 ,1986 inThessaloniki ) is a Greek footballer currently playing forPAOK FC . He plays as a defensive midfielder or as a left midfielder, although with coachFernando Santos he was mostly used as a right back, a position unknown to him but he did quite well. He is noted for his passion in the game, his good defending and his preference to trying to cross from the side. He is regarded to be a rising star though PAOK's two last seasons weren't very good thus preventing him from shining.Club career
He started his career in
Apollon Kalamarias coming from the club's youth-system. Despite his relatively young age he played first-team football and appeared really mature which attracted the interest of bigger clubs.He was signed in the summer of by
PAOK F.C. for a fee of 250.000 euros and a percentage of his next sale. Shortly afterwards he gained a starting spot in PAOK alongside club legendTheodoros Zagorakis . His best season to date is the 2006-7 where he helped the team's cause scoring three goals also. In 2007-2008 season, and with new coachFernando Santos preferringSotiris Balafas andLambros Vangelis at first and thenRicardo Matias Verón he was restricted as a subtitute but injury problems gave him the chance to play as a right defender where his performance regained his manager's faith in him.International career
He was part of the U19 football team while playing in
Apollon Kalamarias and then of theGreece national under-21 football team earning more than 10 caps. He said that his big dream is to earn a spot in theGreek national football team and win the championship withPAOK F.C.
