Alice Dinnean-Vernon is a
puppeteer and creativewriter who works atThe Jim Henson Company . Dinnean-Vernon has performed on many children's television shows such as "Sesame Street ", "Bear in the Big Blue House ", and "Jack's Big Music Show ". She also did work on various non-Muppet productions such as "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel".During her early years at school, her interest for puppetry is when she received a pig puppet as a prize for winning a local essay contest in Oakland, California. Years later, after a prestigious internship at the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, Georgia, she auditioned for the Jim Henson Company.
In the early 1990s, she performed additional characters for the children's TV series, Sesame Street. Some of her characters include Sherry Netherland, the owner of the Furry Arms Hotel after
Julianne Buescher left the show in 1993 and Phoebe, an member of the segment, Monster Clubhouse, from 2001 to 2003. Dinnean-Vernon left the show in 2004.Her non-Muppet productions she performed in was the horror-humor TV series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Her performance on the show involved performing a demon puppet in "As You Were" and a living mummy hand in "Life Serial". After the series' end in 2003, Dinnean-Vernon performed a puppet-like character of Angel in the episode "
Smile Time " along withPeter Linz and other performers and designers.Dinnean-Vernon performed Mary on the Emmy-winning children's series, Jack's Big Music Show created by Sesame Street puppeteer
David Rudman .Currently, she is writing episodes and performing characters on the
