Jimmy Akingbola (born 1978 in Plaistow, Newham, London) is an English actor of Nigerian decent.

The youngest of four children (two brothers, one sister), he was born at Forest Gate Hospital. After his parents divorced (the older three children went with his father), Jimmy was in the care of his sick mother, and eventually due to her illness sent to Windermere children's home aged two. At age three he was fostered by the white Crow family, as the youngest of four children in Silvertown. Akingbola foster brothers loved comedy films, and he enjoyed watching them react to the acting of comedy actors like Steve Martin. During school he loved playing in school Christmas plays, including a role at Junior school where he played "Little Red Riding Hood." His first professional work was for Bill Alexander at Birmingham Repertory Theatre in "The Nativity." The then developed his art in theatre, including in a production of "Baby Doll," and playing in "The People Next Door" by Scottish playwright Henry Adams at the Traverse Theatre, opposite Leslie Phillips in the 2003 Edinburgh Festival. He television roles started with "Anansi" in 2002, and in the black sitcom "The Crouches." He has since played roles in "Stupid!, The Bill, The Royal, Holby City" and "Doctors." Akingbola currently appears in "Holby Blue" as PC Neil Parker, the professional partner of Chloe Howman's character.
