Malcolm Evans (cartoonist)

Malcolm Paul Evans (born 1945) is a New Zealand cartoonist residing in Auckland.

His cartoons appear once weekly in Auckland suburban newspapers owned by Fairfax New Zealand and in The Press. His Edna character has been running fortnightly for the last 25 years in New Zealand's largest farming newspaper Rural News. He also produces a cartoon for the nationally distributed bi-weekly, New Zealand Catholic.

Evans supplied cartoons to the New Zealand Herald for six years, but after publishing a number of cartoons featuring "classic anti-Semitic caricature types" was asked to stop creating cartoons on the subject of Israel. He was consequently dismissed in 2002.[1] During his time at the New Zealand Herald he was twice awarded the New Zealand Cartoonist of the Year.
