It is also known as the golden deepsea crab, and was formerly called "Geryon fenneri". Its closest relatives are thesnow crab andking crab and similar to them, it can not swim. Like theblue crab , its name comes from the color of its shell; it is usually cream to tan in color. It is generally found on the ocean beds in the tropical regions of theAtlantic Ocean . This crab is large, with acarapace similar in size to a dinner plate.
