William McMinn

He is best remembered for his work on:
* the Mitchell Building, the first building at the University of Adelaide,
* the Austral Hotel in Rundle Street, and

Other well-known buildings which he helped to design include:
* the main building at Prince Alfred College,
* the Mount Breckan mansion at Victor Harbor, [ [http://www.southaustralianhistory.com.au/mountbreckan.htm Mount Breckan, home of the Hay Family in Victor Harbor ] ]
* the original wing of the Adelaide Children's Hospital, and
* the Adelaide General Post Office.

McMinn was also involved in the ill-fated expedition surveying the area around the Adelaide River, and later in the surveying of the overland telegraph from Port Augusta to Darwin.
