Southport Tigers

Southport Tigers

Southport Tigers are a Gold Coast, Queensland based rugby league football club. Formally Gold Coast Tigers, the name was changed in 1978 to accommodate other Gold Coast based teams.

In 1982/83 a committee with the help of many volunteers began planning to build a Leagues Club. Thanks to the contributions of both the senior and junior clubs and the 161 people who paid $200 to become a foundation member, Senator Ron McAuliffe officially opened the single story clubhouse on the 1st of February 1984. Southport Leagues Club is home of the mighty Tiger and has a Restaurant (open for lunch and dinner 7 days), Bars, Gaming Lounge, TAB and is famous for "The Deck". Southport Leagues Club is open from 10am daily

Southport Tigers cater for rugby league for all ages and levels of rugby league from under-6 to the local A Grade.

Southport Tigers have produced big names like Greg Eastwood and Steve Rogers.

Their most successful A grade season was 2008,where they won every match and beat Currumin Eagles in the grand final. A win that not only saw the A Grade team win the Grand Final as undefeated Premiers but also backed it up with a Reserve Grade Premiership.
