Life and career
Edwards was born in Kittery, Maine. She is a multi-talented actress, singer, director, and humanitarian who is steadily building a solid reputation in television, feature films, the stage, and commercials. She was born in Maine, but lived most of her life in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Like many school-aged children, she performed in elementary school. Unlike many, however, she made the decision at that early age to become a working actor. Seven years after graduating from Snider High School, she moved west to Los Angeles where she began working steadily and continues to this day.
This past year, Ms. Edwards traveled to Uganda to work with youth in war-torn areas, for the documentary film "Voices of Uganda" that chronicled their work. She also traveled to Washington D.C. with Resolve Uganda to lobby on behalf of peace in Northern Uganda.
Most recently, Edwards completed filming an episode of Nickelodeon's "iCarly" - iLost My Mind. Prior to that she appeared in the "The Social Network", written by Aaron Sorkin and directed by David Fincher. She has also guest starred on many top rated shows such as "Lie to Me", "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation", "Without a Trace", "How I Met Your Mother".
Earlier in her career, she worked on such acclaimed shows as "ER (TV series)", "NYPD Blue", "Everybody Loves Raymond", "Friends","The X-Files", "JAG", "Judging Amy", and a Peabody-award winning episode of "Boston Public". She became more generally known, though, by her recurring roles as Nurse Laurel Canyon on the critically acclaimed "Chicago Hope" and as Teena Davis in another Steven Bochco vehicle, "Philly (TV series)".
Edwards screen credits include "To Save a Life" , "The Secret of the Horse". "All Over Again" (a.k.a. Against Time), "October 22nd", "[[Race" aka "Pelting Pot, and "Kinfolks" a.k.a. "Parental Guidance".
Her stage credits include "1-800-Call-God", "Wild Life", "A Thimble of Smoke", "Adam and Eva Marie", "Looney Town", and "The Emerald Society". She received a nomination for Best Actress from the ADA for her work in the latter.
Edwards has also done voice-over work, as well as commercials and print ads for Toyota, State Farm, Crestor, and the Los Angeles Times.
