The centre is located near rail services and the main trade area of Croydon. The demographic profile of the area includes a high percentage of established family units and retirees. The centre contains two supermarkets (Coles and Aldi Food Store) and approximately 36 specialty stores. The mall also contains a Diners Life food court and Fresh Life sections.
History
Centro Croydon was opened in 1982 under the name Croydon Marketplace Shopping Centre by the marketplace group which also owned many other shopping centres which have markets incorporated in them. In the late 90's Croydon Marketplace Shopping Centre was acquired other and had was expanded to include an extension of the centre and an undercover car park which also acts as an undercover marketplace on Sundays & Mondays to the northern end in the late 90's. It was acquired by Centro in 2001, and underwent a further AU$50 million expansion in 2004, which has seen a larger and newer Coles Supermarket, and the addition of an Aldi Food Store.
