Notable_instruments =Taxi is a Gibraltarian
pop rock band founded in 2005 after the break-up ofMelon Diesel . After the quintet's break-up, its members dissolved into two different bands: "Taxi" (Dylan Ferro, Dani Fa and Danny Bugeja) and "Area 52" (Guy Palmer andAdrian Pozo ). Whilst the latter moved on to playalternative rock in English, "Taxi" kept loyal to Melon Diesel'sHispanic fanbase , composing songs in Spanish. [ [http://www.gibraltarlivemusic.com/content/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=50&Itemid=36 Melon Diesel. Where Have They Gone?] ] Their songs maintain a certain similarity to those of "Melon Diesel" although slightly moreupbeat with more pop influences.Origins
Although the band never gave an official
press release when "Melon Diesel" broke up in 2003, the reason given was that there was a difference in opinions concerning what language the song lyrics should be written in and the direction in which the band was moving in. [ [http://www.elmundo.es/elmundo/2005/02/05/cultura/1107590994.html El Mundo - From Melon Diesel to Taxi due to a language issue. es] ] Even though the news came as a shock to its fans, it seemed that theconflict of interest had been ongoing for some time. Shortly after "Melon Diesel's" dissolution, Ferro, Fa and Bugeja restarted their musical careers, performing various local concerts aroundGibraltar by the name ofNo Eye Dear (in collaboration with another local band,Chango Mutney ). After some time, the trio went on to develop their main project, which would become "Taxi".Members
