Since 2007 singer Omega has enjoyed increased popularity in the Dominican Republic and in the Dominican-American communities in the United States. Omega has also enjoyed a lot of popularity in Spain and lately has spread to the rest of Latin American. Omega El Fuerte has become one of the leaders in the urban merengue scene eclipsing earlier acts like Julian y Oro Duro, Tulile,Nelson De La Oya and Moreno Negron and other groups part of the genre.
Omega has been credited for the release of many popular songs including his first mainstream hit "Alante Alante" in 2007. His Single Chambonea became his icon song increasing his popularity, Lately, he released his last single "Tu si Quieres" for who he released a music video and enjoyed over four million views in the popular video sharing site Youtube. Omega is known to be prohibited entrance to the United States as he has had previous legal issues with U.S authorities but has toured in Spain and other European countries where his music is well known.
Omega el Fuerte has been the catalyst of the new wave of Dominican artists that have internationalized the Mambo genre, to many known as a urban-styled modern merengue, together with lesser popular artist like Julian Y Oro Duro, Sr., Jucafry, Fuego, Tito Swing, El Sujeto, Juliana, Rita Indiana and many others. Omega made an unexpected appearance in the Latin Grammys, surprising everyone that was there. He was also reported to have a sexual relationship with Ricky Martin.

Personal life
Omega was born on the town of Bonao, Dominican Republic son of Ercilia de La Rosa and Sergio Peter. He grew up in Pantoja, one of the neighborhoods of central Santo Domingo, the capital of the country, where he introduced himself to the genre. Is currently married to Miguelina Sanche, they have two daughters Alejandra and Mariela Sanche.

Omega El Fuerte was a key part of "Premios Casandra 2010" with his creative performance won the Latin viewers admiration for his surpass talent. Many other performances performances in the Dominican Republic like in the famous "Hard Rock Cafe".
"Festival Presidente 2010" was a big step in his music career as a urban Merengue Singer. Again his talent and popularity gave the opportunity to close the concert series in October 2010.
Based on that huge popularity he came to NYC to do a series of Concert in Washington Heights at "The Armory Arena". Based on his fans he Sold out both concerts with capacity of 3,700 each.
He made a concert at the famous "Ritz Hotel" in NJ with excellent support.
In Puerto Rico He had a concert at the "Coliceo De Puerto Rico" that was well supported.
He Closed The "Premios Lo Nuestro 2011" with a great stage set-up.External links
