List of Dragon Booster characters

List of Dragon Booster characters

This is a list of characters appearing in the animated television series Dragon Booster.

Main characters

Artha Penn

* Voice Actor: Matt Hill

The protagonist of the series; Artha Penn was raised as a stablehand for his father, a retired dragon racer who successfully bred the gold dragon Beaucephalis (or "Beau"). Artha is chosen by the golden dragon to become the "Dragon Booster", a hero spoke of in legends who previously put an end to an ancient war between dragons and humans.

Throughout the series, Artha competes as a street racer in the city's "All-City" racing circuit atop his dragon Beau, with his younger brother Lance and best friends Parmon and Kitt supporting him as members of the "Penn Stables" racing crew. And as the Dragon Booster, Artha is mentored by a dragon priest named Mortis, and he fights crime within the city as well as countering plans by Word Paynn to incite a new war between humans and dragons, often by trying to capture or control Artha's legendary dragon.As the series we can say artha loves kitt

Beau

Artha's dragon, Beaucephalis (nicknamed "Beau") is a quadropedal dragon bred by Artha's father. Beau appears black with gold markings, and possesses the legendary gold element, which often makes him the target of Word Paynn's ambitions. Because of this, early in the series Beau changes his normal body color from black and gold to red and blue, to disguise himself as a normal dragon and avoid drawing unwanted attention. Throughout the series, Beau reveals his true colors and power as the dragon of legend only when Artha transforms into the Dragon Booster. Artha also appears to have a bit of a crush on Kitt during the first few episodes of the first series as he is seen staring at her during the first episode when she tries to get onto beau, and in another one of the first few episodes, Lance tells Kitt that Artha likes her.

Lance Penn

* Voice Actor: Sohan .V.

Artha's younger brother, Lance enjoys candy and playing video games, and greatly admires his elder brother's racing. Lance rides a blue dragon named Fracshun, but is not an experienced racer himself, and is content to provide support from the sidelines along with Parmon. Even so, Lance's small size and agility prove invaluable several times throughout the series. Given the status of the other Penn Racing Crew members as future Boosters, it seems likely that Lance will be come the Energy Booster (the blue-influenced Booster so named by the shows creators).

Kitt Wonn

* Voice Actor: Lenore Zann

One of the most experienced and known All-City racers, Kitt is initially a solitary racer but quickly becomes friends with Artha, and eventually becomes part of the Penn racing crew. Kitt is temperamental, but protective of her friends. As a racer, Kitt rides a bipedal red dragon named Wyldfyr (m). During the infiltration of the Academy, Kitt was seen paying respect to the former Fire Booster and it seems likely she will become the next Fire Booster.

Parmon Sean

* Voice Actor: Lee Tockar

Artha and Lance's best friend, Parmon Sean (often nicknamed "Parm") becomes the technician and tactician of the Penn racing crew, riding beside them atop the green Bull-class dragon Cyranno. Parmon is highly apt in statistics and mathematical equations, but is also easily frightened; however, he is generally the first to identify dangers and, despite a penchant for speaking in highly technical terms, often provides solutions and resolutions to conflicts. In episode 36, Parm acquired the gauntlet of the green Power Booster.

Mortis

* Voice Actor: Gary Chalk

A member of the City's ancient dragon priesthood, Mortis serves as a mentor to Artha and is the one who gives him the ability to transform into the Dragon Booster. Late in the series, Mortis is revealed to be Artha's father, Connor Penn who was thought to have died in the early episodes.

Word Paynn

* Voice Actor: Mark Oliver

Word Paynn is the primary antagonist of the series. Like Mortis, Word knows much about the ancient myths and legends, and is intent on capturing or controlling the dragon of legend in order to start a new war between dragons and humans.

Word was once best friends with dragon breeder Connor Penn, and also trained with him in the Ancient Order of Dragon Priests, but broke his friendship with Connor out of a long-lasting, crucial argument and loathes the Penn name still. He was kicked out of the Ancient Order because of his fiendish (and foiled) attempts to start another dragon-human war, and experimenting with dragon control gear. Word believes that dragons should rule the earth, and it has gone to the point where his insanity blinds him from the equality of both dragons and humans. Word has succeeded in many things besides gear manufacturing, such as creating liquid black draconium, an artificial black and gold dragon (he actually created a chromatic dragon out of Brutaris, Phistus' dragon (more on Brutaris in List of Dragons in Dragon Booster), but Dragon Booster put a stop to his attempt at destroying the city), and even wraith gear designed to control humans.

Drakkus

Drakkus is a powerful warrior and is revealed to be Word Paynn. Dragon Booster must face him in "The Return of Drakkus - Part I & II". He wears an ancient armour, it is unknown how he acquired it. The armour belonged to an ancient warrior that existed 3000 years ago. Drakkus is able to use a powerful technique known as Mag-Claw as can Mortis.

Drakkus regards the Dragon Booster as weak and untrained. His main goal appears to be to destroy the Dragon Booster and use the Dragon of Legend to its full ability. Drakkus was defeated by the Dragon Booster when he learnt to release the dragon and the human. He fled but later did return.

Drakkus rides a very large black draconium dragon, Abandonn except his design is black and dark green with a red stomach. It is unknown how Abandonn's gains this colour change when Word uses his as Drakkus.

Moordryd Paynn

* Voice Actor: Trevor Devall

Another antagonist in the series, Moordryd is Word's son, the leader of the "Dragon Eye" Down City racing crew, and rides a black, slender quadropedal dragon named Decepshun. Because he was the one who attacked the Penn Stables and tried to steal Beau, Moordryd quickly becomes Artha's racing rival. Aggressive and somewhat reckless, Moordryd frequently loses races to Artha, and tries hard to earn the approval of his father despite interference by the Dragon Booster.

Late in the series, Moordryd acquires an ancient gauntlet that allows him to become a powerful foe he calls the "Shadow Booster"; similarly, his dragon Decepshun becomes exposed to an experimental device created by Moordryd's father and is transformed into a purified black dragon.

Connor Penn

* Voice Actor: Gary Chalk

Connor Penn is the father of Artha and Lance, and the famous owner of Penn Stables. He was the person who bred Beau to be a gold draconium based dragon, and he taught Artha about the Dragon Booster. When he was younger, Connor was also trained in the Ancient Order and was once the best friend of Word Paynn. Due to heavily different opinions, they parted. Connor's Dragon is Tyrannis Pax.

Not only is Connor a dragon breeder, but he provides useful tips to other riders when it comes to racing. Rumor has it that he was the original Dragon Booster, but this is completely false, since he was not chosen, but only given the amulet to give to the true Dragon Booster (after all, the original dragon-human war was more than 3000 years ago)

Connor has red hair, but none on his head, has blue eyes, and wears a blue outfit. He is 47 years old and his height is 5'11". He apparently seems to vanish in the first episode, but the Dragon Priest Mortis plays a familiar fatherly figure to Artha and Lance and it is also revealed that (despite what previous official information otherwise stated) Connor and Mortis are one in the same in the finale of season 2.

Cain

* Voice Actor: Scott McNeil

Cain is Moordryd Paynn's right hand man and lieutenant of the Dragon Eyes Down City crew. Like Parm, Cain is probably Moordryd's best friend. His dragon is Coershun, a fierce, black draconium Psi-class dragon.

Cain is loyal to the Dragon Eyes and rather smart, but at times his cowardice and ridiculous phobias gets the better of him and he ends up retreating instead of helping the rest of the Dragon Eyes fight. Like Kitt, he's rather sarcastic and cynical. He loves to get under Moordryd's skin by taunting him and making dry remarks.

As much of a good Dragon Eye as Cain is, he is somewhat of a coward, but enjoys tormenting members of the Penn Racing Crew. He'll joke around when he's bothering them, and that is his weakness. (Like in Episode 32 "When Opposites Attract", when he captured Lance, but Lance stepped on his foot.)

The muscular Cain has a tattoo of the Dragon Eye crew symbol on his forehead and has dark dreadlocks and gold-brown eyes. He wears a dull-colored gray and maroon outfit, not concealing much of the top besides a few straps. Like Parm, his skin tone is darker, and he is 17 years old and 5'10" tall. After thinking Moordryd betrayed him in the episode "Cain's mutiny" he revolts against him and supports shadow booster. Later Moordryd revealed to him that he is the Shadow Booster and Cain calmed down. He is voiced by Scott McNeil.

ide characters

Pyrrah

* Voice Actor: Nicole Oliver

Pyrrah is the fiery leader of the dangerous Down City Dragon Flares Crew and represents them on the Council of Twelve. Her dragon, Phorrj, is a red draconium Magma-class dragon with the same temperamental attitude as his rider.

Pyrrah is one to be reckoned with. She is rather fair and does not play dirty, sometimes being temperamental, but thus far, most of the times we have seen Pyrrah, she is unwittingly being used by Word Paynn in one way or another (in "Into the Fire", Word takes control of her with a black mind control pod to try and seize Artha Penn's dragon). As a result, we have yet to see what her "true colors" are and whether she is friend, foe, or neutral to the Dragon Booster's cause. She uses a strange weapon (Many have dubbed it a "fire axe" because of the resemblance) that generates red draconium energy and has a little brother named Sparkk. On the many occasions that Moordryd manages to divide the council against itself, Pyrrah has sided with him.

Pyrrah wears a purple suit and a red coat with a flame design. She has grayish-purple eyes and flaring red hair. She’s 17 years old and her height is 5'5".

Phistus

* Voice Actor: Andrew Francis

The brawny Phistus is the leader of the Grip of the Dragon Down City Crew, and also leads the Down City Crew Council of Twelve. He gets irritated with the constant chaos between Down City crews, and longs to resolve this. His green draconium Bull-class dragon, Brutaris, is very much like him, a strong figure with a good heart.

Phistus strongly believes that the Down City crews need to insure peace between each other; however, with Moordryd and Word interfering, he needs the help of other crews and the Dragon Booster to stop this problem. His temper rises rather quickly if he’s extremely annoyed, and he tries to maintain order in the Council and will use force if necessary. He carries a large hammer built of green draconium and is a great jouster, as are most of his Grip of the Dragon crew members.

Phistus wears a green suit and has a tattoo on his right arm and armor bands on his left. He has brown eyes and is at age 18 with a height of 6'2".

* Nickname(s): Phisty

Khatah

Khatah is the distinguished leader of the Inner Order Down City Crew and the consecutive champion in the Horn of Libris competition. He represents the Inner Order on the Council of Twelve. Khatah was the best student at the Racing Academy and scored above ninety-eight percent on all his tests. He usually works with Sarjo, another Inner Order member. His dragon, Shock-Ra, is a blue draconium Energy-class dragon.

Khatah can be close minded and rather selfish. He initially denounced Artha as just another immature racer after losing the Horn of Libris competition, but changes his mind when Artha and Kitt attempt to rescue him from Moordryd's compound when he tries to take it back. He also attempted to help Parmon and Cyrano when both were possessed by a powerful Blue Draconium bone mark. He favors slim mag-staffs and is skilled with martial arts.

Khatah has indigo hair and bright blue eyes. He wears an elaborate blue and gold outfit with the lightning bolt insignia of the Inner Order. He is 22 years old and his height is 5'7". His name seems to be a play-on pun of kata, a method of martial arts.

tewardd

* Voice Actor: Samuel Vincent

Stewardd is the leader of the secretive Keepers crew, who once helped the original Dragon Booster three thousand years ago. Stewardd may be small, but when it comes to hiding and being swift on your feet, depend on him. His dragon is Gunny, a light green draconium Scavenger-class dragon.

StewarDragon Booster Academyeems to be a play-on pun of the word stewart, as in a helper of a knight, or steward.

*Nickname(s): mouse (by Moordryd)

Reepyr

* Voice Actor: Michael Kopsa

Reepyr is the human leader of the legendary Prophets Crew, controlled by Propheci (m). The Prophets once helped the original Dragon Booster, but they are now against him. Reepyr is being controlled by the orange draconium Control-class dragon Propheci, the lethal dragon leader of the Prophets.

Reepyr is used by Propheci until the Dragon Booster and his friends take on the challenge of the Track of Doom. It is then that Propheci decides to work together with humans and dragons, but Reepyr stays under Propheci’s influence. It is later than Propheci decides to imprison Reepyr and the other human Prophets. Reepyr acts rather troubled, and will stop at nothing to cease the dangerous orange dragons from gaining control of Dragon City. Due to the nature of the Prophets Crew and the recent infighting among them, Reepyr and his crew have no representation on the Council of Twelve. Recently Reepyr has had some success uniting his crew and has imprisoned Propheci.

Reepyr has rather greenish skin, red hair and dark-colored eyes, and wears an orange suit. He is 17 years old and is 5'6" tall. His name is a pun of reaper, a name used to describe a killer.

Wulph

* Voice Actor: Trevor Devall

Wulph is the authoritative leader of the Army of the Dragon Crew and their representation on the Council of Twelve. He likes to have the last word and makes sure that nothing happens to those he believes he's responsible for. He usually works with more than one of his crewmembers in several situations, but if it's one man, it's Trakkyrr or Ferryt. His dragon is Hyve, a sly purple draconium Pack-class dragon.

Wulph tends to dislike his opinions and suggestions being criticized and/or taken for granted, especially when other people try influencing him to change his decisions. At times, he tends to take situations that don't concern him into his hands, and usually sends tracking dragons after those unsuspecting to it. Before, he worked for Word Paynn, but now it seems only an interesting prospect will sway him back, as now his crew works and thinks for themselves.

He is good at certain things, like working in teams, but he is not a great racer, as he is often the first eliminated in races to get into Academy, as seen in Season Three. In addition he often sides with Moordryd in his attempts to divide the Council against itself.

Wulph has lime green hair and indigo eyes, with a scar across his right eye. His outfit is purple and gold, and he is 5'5" tall and 17 years old. His name seems to be a play-on pun of the animal wolf.

Vociferous

* Voice Actor: Samuel Vincent

Vociferous is the sly, smooth-taking leader of the distrustful Voice of the Dragon Crew and their representaion on the Council of Twelve. At times, he will assume the identity of a director. Like Moordryd and his Dragon Eyes, Vociferous and his Voices will use deceptive tactics, but to blind others instead of rousing a high level of suspicion. He works together with Spynn, a female lieutenant of the Voices (and at some times, behind the camera). His dragon is Swavvy, but her appearance isn't really confirmed. For example, in episode 20, "Artha the Drac", and episode 24, "The Mechanist", Vociferous is shown riding a Bull-Class-like dragon with light green coloring. But in episode 33, "The Defiants", and episode 37 "Cain's Mutiny", he is shown riding a dark turquoise colored dragon with a body similar to that of a Nautilus-class dragon. She is however, a Turqoise Sonic-Class Dragon and thus likely the latter.

Vociferous loves to fool around and have his fun by making people humiliate and embarrass themselves. His deception and manipulation have slipped around without much suspicion, and he takes advantage of a situation whenever he has the chance. He is quick-witted, but is impatient and incompetent, therefore leading to problems in both physical and social skills. He fights with a mag-staff and is skilled in acrobatics. On the many occasions that Moordryd manages to divide the council against itself, Vociferous has sided with him.

Vociferous seems to like setting new fashion trends with his turquoise and blue clothes, and has a bit of an elfish look to him. He has spiky pink hair and green eyes, and his height and age are unknown. (He seems to be as tall as Parm, however, this shows in an episode where Artha's height differs from Parm’s. He tends to act slightly more mature than Artha or Moordryd, so he may be older than 16.) His name is from a play-off of the word vociferous, meaning "a loud or noisy cry; talkative, vocal".

Race Marshall Budge

* Voice Actor: Richard Newman

There doesn’t seem to be much information about Race Marshall Budge, besides the fact that he announces the many races and competitions that take place in Dragon City. Budge also seems to wander the Mid-City streets sometimes. He has white hair, is rather overweight and looks elderly. (His height and exact age are unknown.)

Captain Faier

* Voice Actor: Trevor Devall

Captain Faier is the head of Dragon City Security, Dragon City’s main authorities. He takes action whenever the city is threatened and tries to maintain order as best as he could. Faier and Dragon City Security highly respect the Dragon Booster, and any other person with good intentions and a will to protect Dragon City.

Faier has pink hair and brown eyes and wears a blue Dragon City Security uniform. His height and age are unknown. His name seems to have some relation to Ken Faier, who works on the show, or "fair", which tends to be a joke of irony about modern authority.

Armeggaddon

* Voice Actor: Gerard Plunkett

Armeggaddon was from three thousand years ago, and was probably an enemy to the original Dragon Booster. He was imprisoned in the Shadow Track by the original Shadow Booster until Artha, Lance and Moordryd broke the spell that encased riders and dragons inside the track. (See "Faster Than Fear"; a shadowy figure passes by Artha's visor.)

Armeggaddon chooses Moordryd to be "The One" to defeat the Dragon Booster, and presents him with a black draconium amulet, similar to the symbol of the Dragon Eyes. It is believed that he himself is the amulet, since he speaks through it to Moordryd. Armeggaddon is similar to Mortis, and teaches Moordryd the ancient ways of power.

Armeggaddon was the Emperor or leader of the Black Dragon Eye Empire 3000 years ago and intends to give that honor to his student Moordryd Paynn (Shadow Booster). At first, Armeggaddon was nothing more than shadow, and his fiery, non-human eyes were his only trait. His race is unknown. He was revealed in episode 33, "The Defiants" wearing Dragon armour with long pointed head gear, and large curved spikes coming from his back. His mouth is also visible, suggesting he is human. He faces Word Paynn as Drakkus and tells him his love for his son is his weakness. Also, Moordryd betrays Armeggadon when he joins dragon booster, Drakkus who is actually Word Paynn, Mortis and fought the eight pure black draconium dragons of Armeggadon. After suffering betrayal from Shadow Booster, Armeggaddon realises his mistake and prepares to resurrect the League of Eight by finding the bonemarks of the eight dragons.

Armeggadon, being from 3000 years ago, knows of ALL of the possible Mag Claw moves, including Mag Fury, a Mag Tornado (it's real name is unknown), and many others. However, he was beaten by Parmon in episode 36 "Professor Stubborn", when Parm used a combination of gear to redirect his Mag energy back toward him.

entrus

The sophisticated and devious Academy scout Sentrus chooses racers for the Elite Racing Academy. She takes an interest those who show intimate and astounding skills, and not only with racing methods alone, but with a racer's other techniques, such as gear choice and advanced knowledge. Sentrus craves highly experienced racers who have proven their spot in the Racing Academy, and at times will bring up challenges to thicken the tension between racers.

Sentrus has white hair and grey eyes, and wears a cyan dress. Her height and age are unknown (though she is rather tall).
