- River Chet
The River Chet is a small
river inSouth Norfolk ,England and atributary of theRiver Yare . It rises inPoringland and then flows eastwards throughAlpington ,Bergh Apton ,Thurton and Loddon. At Loddon it passes under the A146 and then through Loddon Mill and into Loddon Staithe. From this point onwards the river is navigable. It then passesHardley Flood to the north, a nature reserve part-managed by theNorfolk Wildlife Trust . The river finally joins the River Yare a few miles east ofReedham at Hardley Cross, erected in 1676 [ [http://www.the-plunketts.freeserve.co.uk/boundarycrosses.htm Norwich Boundary Crosses ] ] , which marks the ancient boundary between the City ofNorwich and the Borough ofGreat Yarmouth .
