Frederick High School (FHS) is a four-year public high school in Frederick, MD, Frederick County, Maryland, United States. Frederick High School can trace its roots to the 1890s before the boys' and girls' high schools merged in 1921 to form the first Frederick High School. [ [http://www.cityoffrederick.com/about/about.htm City of Frederick website] ] The school serves the town of Frederick along with Governor Thomas Johnson High School and Tuscarora High School, and is only a few miles from Walkersville High School and Urbana High School.

Buildings

The school is located at 650 Carroll Parkway in downtown Frederick City. It is just north of Maryland Route 144, east of U.S. 15, south of West 2nd Street, and east of West College Terrace.

Students

Frederick High School's graduation rate has been steady over the past 12 years. In 2007 the school graduated 92.75%, the highest rate since 1993 when it reached 93.35%, up from a low of 90.65% in 2004. Frederick High School is a very diverse high school. As of 2007, the school was 26% black, 49% white, 14.5% Hispanic, and 10% Asian. The school's population had been steadily rising until 2003 when Tuscarora High School opened in southern Frederick.
