English Schools Foundation inFo Tan ,Sha Tin ,Hong Kong .The school opened in 1988, and the founding principal Gordon Lewis remained in this post until his retirement in 2004. He was subsequently awarded the
O.B.E. in recognition of his services to education in Hong Kong. The current principal is Dr Allan Weston.The school now has a 5-class entry for each year group, with a total of around 900 students. The facilities include a
swimming pool , a multi-purpose sports hall (withbadminton ,basketball ,volleyball , andclimbing facilities), and anAstro-turf pitch, all shared withSha Tin College . Sha Tin Junior School has recently adopted the Primary Years Programme (PYP) of theInternational Baccalaureate Organization .It provides for children from Year One to Year Six, and each class is named by its year group first followed by another number (from 1 to 5) e.g. Y1.3.

Shing Mun River . There are four houses, signifying the four major bridges:Banyan is named after Banyan Bridge (翠榕橋) on Fo Tan Road. The house colour is green.
Dragon is named after Dragon Bridge (錦龍橋) on Sha Tin Road. The house colour is red.
Lion is named after Lion Bridge (獅子橋) on Lion Rock Tunnel Road. The house colour is yellow.
Sandmartin is named after Sandmartin Bridge (沙燕橋) on Sha Tin Rural Committee Road. The house colour is blue.
