Wisconsin Volleyball

Wisconsin Volleyball can either refer to the teams that play for the University of Wisconsin-Madison or it can be a more general term describing anything to do with the sport in the state of Wisconsin.

University of Wisconsin-Madison Women's Volleyball

The University of Wisconsin-Madison's NCAA Division 1 Women's Program [http://www.uwbadgers.com/sport_news/vb/headlines/headlines.html?sportid=133] has a rich volleyball tradition. They have had nine head coaches since the team's inception in 1974. In 2000, under head coach Pete Waite, they appeared in the NCAA Division 1 Championship Match. In the 2007 season, they ranked third in attendance among all Division 1 volleyball programs, averaging 5,050 fans over 18 matches.

The sport is played at all ages and levels. The Badger Region Volleyball Association [http://www.badgerregionvolleyball.org/default.aspx] is the membership organization for USA Volleyball in Wisconsin.
