According to the
United States Census Bureau , the CDP has a total area of 9.1km² (3.5 mi²). 8.5 km² (3.3 mi²) of it is land and 0.5 km² (0.2 mi²) of it (5.43%) is water.Demographics
As of the
census GR|2 of 2000, there were 1,649 people, 630 households, and 464 families residing in the CDP. Thepopulation density was 192.9/km² (499.0/mi²). There were 663 housing units at an average density of 77.6/km² (200.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 97.03% White, 0.73% African American, 0.97% Native American, 0.18% Asian, 0.12% from other races, and 0.97% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.67% of the population.There were 630 households out of which 39.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.5% were married couples living together, 10.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.3% were non-families. 22.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.62 and the average family size was 3.06.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 26.7% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 31.6% from 25 to 44, 24.4% from 45 to 64, and 9.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 101.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.4 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $43,264, and the median income for a family was $47,857. Males had a median income of $33,462 versus $28,125 for females. The
per capita income for the CDP was $18,925. About 2.9% of families and 3.8% of the population were below thepoverty line , including 4.7% of those under the age of 18 and 5.7% of those 65 and older.References
