Muzaffargarh (Urdu/Punjabi: مظفر گڑھ) is a district in the south of the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is spread over an area of 8,435 km². It forms a strip between the river Chenab on its east and Indus river on its West. It is one of oldest districts of Punjab. According to the 1998 census of Pakistan, the population of the district was 2,635,903 of which 12.75% were urban.

Muzaffar Garh is a small city located about 25 kilometres away from Multan, Punjab. This is located in the centre of Pakistan. This is one of the old district of Pakistan. This city is named after a previous ruler of this area called Muzaffar Khan. It is considered a city of education by its inhabitants, due to the presence of several academies known throughout Pakistan. There are many high schools in the city both for girls and boys. There are several private and semi-private English medium educational institutes in the city. It also has degree colleges separate for girls and boys. Muzaffar Garh also has a campus of Bahauddin zakriya University.

Muzaffar Garh is included in the Dera Ghazi Khan division of Punjab, a district not as developed as other Punjabi cities and districts. About 90 percent of the population of Muzaffar Garh consists of speakers of Siraiki speakers. The city's local industries include the production of mangoes.

The city consists of four municipalities - Kot Adu, Jatoi, Alipur and Muzaffar Garh itself. Jatoi is known widely for the notorious incident of Mukhtiaran Mai. It also bears strategic importance to the country as the site of one the three oil refineries present in Pakistan, and Chanab Bridge which forms a connection between the two parts of Pakistan.

Shahjamal, a small district of Muzaffar Garh, contains a number of historic buildings representing Hindu traditions and way of life.

Muzaffar Garh is also an industrial city having various textile, jute mills,cotton and sugar mills.it also has various Power plants like thermal power Muzaffar Garh,Laal peer and KEPCO and also the biggest refinary of Pakistan.
