Quebec Liberal Party candidates, 2008 Quebec provincial election

The Liberal Party of Quebec ran a full slate of 125 candidates in the 2008 provincial election, and elected 66 members to form a majority government. Many of the party's candidates have their own biography pages; information about others may be found here.

Candidates

Nicolet-Yamaska: Mario Landry

Mario Landry was a financial director at CSSS Bécancour-Nicolet-Yamaska at the time of the election. He called for greater highway expansion in the Nicolet-Yamaska area, arguing that this would create a framework for viable economic growth.[1] He received 7,991 votes (34.56%), finishing a very close second against Parti Québécois candidate Jean-Martin Aussant.

Richelieu: Christian Cournoyer

Christian Cournoyer has studied metallurgy and holds a degree in data processing. He has worked in both production and management at a metalworks firm in Sorel-Tracy, is a member of the Knights of Columbus, and has coached minor league hockey.[2] He received 8,552 votes (34.67%), finishing second against Parti Québécois incumbent Sylvain Simard.
