Maureen Jennings is a British-born Canadian writer. Born on Eastfield Road in Birmingham, England she spent her formative years there until she emigrated to Canada at the age of seventeen with her mother.[citation needed] She is best known as the author of the Detective Murdoch series, which have been turned into a television series, Murdoch Mysteries.[1]
