The wallet was found January 15th, 2008, in the PAX (passenger) Terminal during a lay over in Incirlik AB, Turkey. It had just been 6 hours from his departure from Ramstein AB, en route to Manas AB, to begin his 6 month deployment. He was supposed to turn in the wallet to PAX personnell. The flight was delayed while Security Forces began an investigation.

At his April 14 court-martial, Aistrope pleaded guilty to a single charge of larceny and a military judge sentenced him to two months’ confinement, demotion to staff sergeant from Technical Sergeant, $2,000 in lost wages and a $1,500 fine. Aistrope was stationed at Bagram Air Base, as part of the 755th Air Expeditionary Group.He is currently stationed at Ramstein Air Base, in the 435th Logistics Readiness Squadron.
