William Frederick Evans (known as Bill Evans) (born 24 April 1857, date of death unknown) was a Welsh international rugby union player, who won two caps (1882 and 1883).
Life
Evans was born in Rhymney, Monmouthshire.[cite web|url=http://www.wru.co.uk/12750_14256.php?player=25956&includeref=dynamic|title=Bill Evans|work=WRU Searchable Player Archive| publisher=Welsh Rugby Union|accessdate=2008-05-18] He was educated at Christ College, Brecon, Sherborne School and Jesus College, Oxford (but did not win a "Blue").][cite journal|title=Jesus College's Rugby Internationals|journal=The Jesus College Record|publisher=Jesus College, Oxford|year=1994/1995 |last=Jenkinson|first=Leonard|pages=62–63] ]He was a three-quarter and represented the Wales national rugby union team on two occasions. His debut for Wales was in a friendly on 28 January 1882 against Ireland. In the following season, he played against Scotland in the Home Nations Championship.[ ]References
