Shibley Telhami

Shibley Telhami

Shibley Telhami is a Professor of political science at the University of Maryland, College Park. He holds the Anwar Sadat chair for Peace. He is a specialist in the politics of the Middle East, especially the Israeli-Arab conflict.

Telhami was born into an Arab family in a small village in Israel called Osfia. He is fluent in Arabic, Hebrew, and English. He is the author of numerous books, and writes op-ed pieces from time to time in various periodicals. He also appears on radio (often C-Span and NPR) and television (often on public affairs programs such as "This Week" and "Nightline").
