Andrew Marley Wood

Sir Andrew Marley Wood GCMG (born 2 January 1940) is a British diplomat.

He was educated at Ardingly College and King’s College, Cambridge.

He began his career in the British Diplomatic Service with a posting to Moscow in 1964. Following a range of diplomatic posts he then served as British Ambassador to Yugoslavia from 1985-1989. From 1995-2000 Wood served as British Ambassador to Russia.

Since 2000 Wood has assumed a variety of advisory positions, including advisor to the then British Prime Minister Tony Blair on Russian investment issues. He has also served as a Director of the Foreign & Colonial Investment Trust, Senior Advisor to Ernst & Young, Chairman of the Britain Russia Centre, Member of the Executive Council of the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce, Member of the Advisory Board of Renaissance Capital, and Member of the Advisory Council of the British Consultants’ Bureau. Sir Andrew is also a Senior Advisor to the PBN Company, and a Member of its Board of Directors.
