Ian McGettigan

Ian McGettigan is a Canadian rock musician and producer.

As bassist, singer and songwriter for Thrush Hermit, McGettigan gained indie rock notoriety. Thrush Hermit also included Joel Plaskett, Rob Benvie and Cliff Gibb. Touring extensively through Canada and the United States, Thrush Hermit released two EPs on Murderecords, "Smart Bomb" and "Great Pacific Ocean". They signed to the American label Elektra Records and released their full length "Sweet Homewrecker". Their 1999 album "Clayton Park" on Sonic Unyon Records was their most successful album, both critically and commercially.

Following Thrush Hermit's break-up, McGettigan produced and contributed to a number of acts and projects, including The Joel Plaskett Emergency, Matthew Barber, Jewish Legend, Flashing Lights, The Dirty 30 and many more.

McGettigan continues to record and perform with Benvie in Camouflage Nights. While in-progress versions of the album and its singles have leaked, their debut album will be released in 2008 by Labwork Music/EMI.
