Pozzi Escot (b. October 1933 in
Lima ,Peru ) is an American composer and faculty member at theNew England Conservatory inBoston, Massachusetts . [http://www.newenglandconservatory.edu/faculty/escotP.html]Escot was born in Lima, Peru, of a French diplomat. She lived in Peru for five years, then returned to France. At the age of 17 she emigrated to the United States to attend Reed College in Portland, Oregan, becoming a citizen three years later. She is a graduate of the Juilliard School, and the Musikhochschule-Hamburg.
She is author of "The Poetics of Simple Mathematics in Music," co-author of "Sonic Design: The Nature of Sound and Music" and since
1980 , Editor-in-Chief of the international music journalSonus . [http://www.sonicdesign.org/escot.htm] She has written over thirty published articles developing and discussing the relationship between music and mathematics. Her works are recorded on Delos, Neuma, Spectrum, Leo, Music & Arts and Centaur labels and published by Publication Contact International.In
