Canadian magazine dedicated to covering "horror in culture and entertainment," taking its name fromEdgar Allan Poe 's short story "The Murders in the Rue Morgue ."The magazine is based in
Toronto ,Ontario ,Canada . It was founded by its original editor-in-chief Rod Gudino in 1997. The magazine's current editor-in-chief, as of the December 2005 issue, is Jovanka Vuckovic. The well known "Rue Morgue" logo was created by the magazine's Art Director, Gary Pullin, and was first published on the cover of its seventh issue."Rue Morgue" was published every other month for a number of years, until January 2005 when the schedule changed to 11 issues per year, with the exception of February. It secured national distribution in Canada with its fourth issue, published in July 1998. It achieved distribution in the
United States in January 1999. By 2006 it closed a direct disrtibution deal forEurope . "Rue Morgue"' is also available inAustralia ,New Zealand andAsia by import. Though it also finds its way toMexico andBrazil (and other parts ofSouth America too)."Rue Morgue" covers horror in all media:
