Yaqub Salimov

Yaqub Salimov (Ta/PA: Яъқуб Салимов/یعقوب سلیموف) was a minister of the interior of Tajikistan from 1992. Before this he was the leader of a militia in the civil war. In 1997 he unsuccessfully attempted a coup d'etat. Afterwards he fled from Tajikistan. He was arrested in Moscow in 2003.On April 25, 2005, he was condemned to 15 years of prison.
