S.M.A.R.T Cars

Special Mobile Anti Road Toll vehicles are high visibility and their sole purpose is to deter people from breaking traffic laws. These officers use the vehicle as a deterrent and if needed these vehicles will be actively involved in interceptions and pursuits. The officers in these vehicles typically head investigations related to traffic accidents and for traffic control also. The vehicles are equipped with radios, moving mode radars and for metropolitan vehicles a on-board computer that links up with Victoria Police Databases and dispatching and Vicroads data.

Typically these vehicles have been the Holden Commodore SS. The first of these vehicles was a gold coloured VX Holden Commodore SS.

There has been a release of 40 Blue BA Ford Falcon XR8's but were soon replaced by the VZ Commodore SS and now the Metallic Brown VE commodore SS.

The roll of the officer is the same as that of SMART car officer. These vehicles are generally Holden commodores SS's and Ford Falcon XR8's

Unmarked Vehicles

These vehicles are used in intercepting vehicles who break the law. These vehicles look like every other vehicle so they virtually hide in traffic. These officers catch offenders whilst in the act and has a positive impact on the road toll as it enforces on the community that the police are watching and will catch you out.

These vehicles come in a variety of cars and are near on impossible to identify.
